The flagship events of the Ralph Ellison Center at Bard are the Ralph Ellison Lectures, a bi-annual lectureship that honor and reflect Ellison's lifelong interest in literature, music, the visual arts, and American cultural history. Every two years, a distinguished scholar delivers a series of lectures at Bard—where Ellison taught from 1958 to 1961—as well as in New York City and at a HBCU. Each lecture will be recorded and published in print volumes and multimedia formats. Future recordings and other materials from these lectures will be made available on this page.
